Okay, this picture might be a couple of years old. I think this was my seventh birthday. Check out the 1970's decor and party clothes. I got some very nice bath powder!
Here we are celebrating my ninth birthday at Shakey's Pizza Parlor in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Love the hats! My mother and TLMM are working on my cake as we speak- Silver White Cake with Chocolate Buttercream Icing. It's from the Betty Crocker Cookbook, which was a gift from Jack & Marilyn. I'll be back shortly with photos and a recipe...and the eggs.

Ah. The magic of Shakey's.
I didn't realize it was your birthday. Hope you had a great one! We had a Shakey's in Columbus, too. I loved watching them throw the dough in the air. Hmm, maybe that is why my first job as a teenager (excluding babysitting) was working at Little Caesar's and why, years later, I used to dream about quitting my first real job after college to go work at a local pizza place.
I had a fun birthday- thank you. I don't remember them throwing the dough! I remember they had fried potato thingies and I liked to get them with the pizza.
Look how my hat doesn't fit on my head! Hilarious!! and I look so pretty in the first picture. seriously (that is me in the for ground right?)
I thought you looked uncharacteristically normal in the photo, so I asked mom if it was you. It's not :) Sorry.
I grew up in Corpus and we went to that Shakeys often. Didnt there used to be a player-piano on the stage?
Great memories! Thanks for posting that. That is one site I never though these eyes would see again.
FYI, Im a 1963 model. :-)
